Education
I received my BA in Theater from UCLA in 2001, MA in Theater Arts from California State University Northridge in 2004, and Ph.D in Theatre Studies from The Ohio State University in 2011. During my Ph.D studies I focused my research on Latin American Theatre and spent significant time in Latin America. I became fluent in Spanish and fell in love with language teaching. Now I am focusing my career on teaching the Spanish language as a way to help my students engage with the rich history and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
Experience
I have tutored professionally for 2 years, tutoring Spanish as well as the SAT and ACT. I have also taught theatre courses at the University level for 5 years, Spanish at the university level for 2 years and Junior High/High School level for 1 year. I currently teach Spanish at an independent school in the San Jose area. I am passionate about helping my students become proficient and conversant in Spanish, allowing them to discover new things about the world and become global citizens

Hobbies
In my free time I love cooking, attending theater and other performances, exploring the wonderful natural world of California, and engaging in intellectual discussions with my friends. I am also a huge fan of Boston sports teams, since I spent my early childhood in Massachusetts.
