I hold a Master's degree in Computer Applications and am a practicing software engineer for 18 years.

I have tried and failed to tutor a few people in my life and thereby I have learned the virtues of patience and and other good qualities such as holding back criticism, encourage independent thought process and give only as much help as needed. Be positive and encouraging so that a student's abilities and confidence can flower I have also been in the student's shoes for more time than what you might expect, as every day in the life of a software engineer he learns something, however trivial. A workplace can be a hard place to learn, however. What you can learn is how not to teach! Learning itself is an art, which I am also hoping to learn better from good students (I have met a few here) Don't worry, you are probably also a good student! Any willing student has a bit of good-ness in him ;-)
