I graduated from Reed College in Portland, OR in 2010 with a B.A. in mathematics. My thesis title was "Musical Sequences and Dominating Empires: A Study in Aperiodic Tilings."
Experience
I am a kind and laid back person with a passion for teaching and learning. I have been tutoring for most of the last six years, mostly at the high school and undergraduate levels. I am naturally curious and enjoy sparking and/or fueling a sense of academic curiosity in others. Whether you are trying to get ahead or catch up, I would love to help make it an enjoyable experience. I was awarded the National Science Foundation's scholarship for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics every year I was at Reed College. I received a commendation for academic excellence from the college three out of my four years in attendance. My high school standardized test scores are as follows. AP tests: 5 physics, 5 calculus BC, 4 chemistry. General SAT: 700 reading, 730 math, 690 writing. SAT subject tests: 710 mathematics level 2, 770 physics, 670 Chemistry.
